Employment
As new projects come up, we rotate through a list of our on-call staff much the way waitstaff work is divided in a restaurant. People with particular skills that match a project might be preferred in some cases, but overall we reach out to the next up person regarding availability and commitment just for one particular project. If you don’t have the time, you can pass on a project without losing anything. If you have the time to take on an extra project, you get the opportunity to earn some extra money and work on something new. This enables us to work with experienced web programmers who cannot make long-term time commitments and allow us to help motivated and intelligent computer science or graphic design students gain real-world experience (and a little extra cash).
Our basic web programmer must have basic knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS, basic image manipulation, troubleshooting and familiarity with operating various CMS. This position will generally not be directing projects but will be called to assist in programming for specific purposes. This is perfect for computer science students who have completed foundational work in programming or recent college graduates who have demonstrated proficiency in web programming. Expect to earn the equivalent $12-20 an hour.
Our advanced web programmer must have demonstrated experience working with and troubleshooting virtually all current coding formats including HTML, Ajax, CSS, Java, PHP in addition to experience with database manipulation. It is important for the advanced web programmer to be able to troubleshoot various coding languages. Graphic design skills and CMS experience is a plus, but not necessary. This is perfect for an experienced web programmer interested in earning revenue on some interesting side projects. Pay is based on experience and complexity of project on a per-project basis.
Our graphic designer must have a portfolio of demonstrated ability to work in image manipulation. Experience with Adobe Photoshop a plus but experience in image manipulation in any environment is necessary. Must be able to create logos, background images and be able to create and edit images for web-based applications. Expect to earn the equivalent of $12-20 an hour.
‘On-Call’ Press Liaison | Not Hiring – Please check back later.
Our press liaisons must have demonstrated experience in communications, journalism, new media PR or marketing. Demonstrable connections to New Jersey and tri-state area press outlets (TV, radio, newspaper, blogs, social media, etc) is a must. Ability to network, write and edit content and an understanding of current public policy, current events and politics is a must. Will be working to help advocate for clients in press outlets, develop relationships with local news websites and bloggers and stay current on related news and industry trends for specific clients.
